Notes: Speed 7. Gear: Modified Hardsuit (AR 3, no Bulky penalty, bespoke masterwork that cost more than most settlements), integrated comm unit, contract ledger, iron flask of whiskey, custom repeating rifle 'Paycheck' (scope, stock notched at 200+). Age 52. Half-iron jaw from a Vulture harpoon at the Siege of Greystone.

Legendary commander of the Ironbrand Western Division and the closest thing the guild has to a living legend. Beulah earned her nickname after taking a Vulture harpoon through the jaw during the Siege of Greystone — she tore it out, cauterized the wound with a cigar lighter, and finished the battle. The rebuilt jaw is half iron now, giving her a slightly metallic voice and an expression that is perpetually unimpressed.

Beulah is fifty-two, grey-haired, and built like a siege engine that learned to walk.

Traits

  • Ironjaw: Immune to Stun and effects that target the face or mouth. The rebuilt jaw is too stubborn to stop working.
  • Reputation: When Beulah identifies herself, all non-Fanatic enemies must make a Morale check at −2. Her name precedes her.

Abilities

  • Tactical Genius: At the start of combat, Beulah designates two allies. They begin at Tick 0 (Instant). She has already positioned them.
  • Lead from the Front: All allies within Near range gain +1 die to all rolls while Beulah is standing and visible. She doesn’t inspire through speeches — she inspires by being better than you at everything.
  • Unbreakable Contract: Cannot be bribed, charmed, or intimidated into abandoning a contract. Psionic compulsion effects targeting this are automatically resisted.
  • Called Retreat (Tempo 3): All allies may immediately Scramble for free. She uses this to extract her people, not to flee.

Tactics

Beulah doesn’t fight — she conducts. She positions forces before the first shot, designates priority targets, and picks off threats from cover with Paycheck. If forced into melee, the Powered Gauntlet ensures she’s no less dangerous. She only engages personally when her people need her, and she only retreats when the contract is fulfilled or the cost exceeds the payment. She always extracts her wounded.

Morale

Unbreakable. Beulah does not break. Her people do not break while she is watching. And she is always watching.
