§2000

The Gatling is the most devastating infantry weapon on the Frontier. Its multiple rotating barrels allow continuous fire as long as ammunition feeds and the crank turns.

Mounting required: The Gatling cannot be fired from the hip. It must be mounted on a tripod, wagon, or fortification.

Crew: Optimal use requires two crew — a gunner to aim and crank, and a loader to feed the belt. Solo operation suffers −2 dice and rate-of-fire limitations.

Ammunition: Belt-fed; capacity is effectively limited only by belts on hand.

Area Attack

area

Effect: Hits all targets in a defined area with a single attack roll.

Volatile weapons are dangerous to their wielder. The Gatling Gun’s overheating mechanism, satchel charges with unstable fuses, and any weapon loaded with Ghost-Rock ammunition. The misfire damage is in addition to the action being wasted.
