Leader of the Redeemer Order. A man who walked into the Ash Belt without water, without food, and without fear — and walked out forty days later with eyes that burn white and a voice that can stop a Stormcaller in its tracks. No one knows what Vane found in the ash. He does not speak of it. He only speaks of what must be done.
Vane is tall, gaunt, and utterly still. He does not fidget, does not blink more than necessary, and does not raise his voice. His white eyes see in total darkness and glow faintly when he is angry — which, by all accounts, is always.
The Circle of Ash believes Vane is a latent Psionic in deep denial. The Consortium believes he is a useful weapon to be pointed at their enemies. The Dust Vultures believe he is death walking. None of them are entirely wrong.

Traits
- Eyes of White Fire: Darkvision. Cannot be Blinded by any means. Eyes glow in darkness — Stealth is impossible if he is looking for you.
- Burning Faith: Immune to all Psionics Rank 3 and below. +4 to resist Rank 4-5. Whether this is divine protection or latent psionic resistance is the subject of fierce debate.
Abilities
- Aura of Purity: All allies within Near range gain +2 to Mental Defense and are immune to Fear. Passive and constant.
- Judgment (Tempo 6): Vane declares a target “condemned before the Flame.” All Redeemers gain +2 dice against the condemned target. Lasts until the target is dead or Vane is incapacitated. Only one target Judged at a time.
- White Fire (1/scene): A burst of searing holy flame erupts from Vane’s outstretched hand. All creatures within Near range take 4 Fire damage (ECHO + Resilience TN 13 for half). Psionics and Veil-Born take +2 additional damage. Ignites flammables.
Tactics
Leads from the front. Enters the room first. Speaks the Judgment first. Fires Absolution first. He is not suicidal — he is supremely confident, and his confidence is justified by decades of survival. Judges the most dangerous supernatural target, activates White Fire if surrounded, then wades into melee with the White-Fire Touch against anything that survives.
Morale
Unbreakable. Vane has looked into the Ash Belt and whatever looked back blinked first.
