Effect

For the rest of the scene, your defensive capabilities scale with the number of allies who are Wounded or Downed within Near range:

For each Wounded ally: +1 AR and +1 Defense
For each Downed ally: +2 AR and +2 Defense
For each dead ally (this scene): +3 AR and +3 Defense, and you become immune to Fear and Suppression

Bonus Cap: Total bonuses from this Talent cap at +6 AR / +6 Defense regardless of fallen ally count.

Additionally: while under the Aegis, your Kinetic Dampener’s damage reduction doubles.

Steps

Allies within Close range also gain half your Aegis bonuses (round down) per Step.

This is the Bastion Soul’s tragedy Talent. You become stronger as your allies fall. The worse things get, the harder you are to kill — but you’re watching the people you swore to protect bleed out around you. The Aegis burns brightest when everything is already lost.
