Effect
Touch a target and choose one of their Core Memories. That Memory is permanently reinforced:
- It cannot be burned by Erosion overflow (the Break still occurs, but the target chooses a different Memory)
- It cannot be erased by Memory Hole or other Mindweaver effects
- It cannot be suppressed by Memory Palace Siege
- The Memory’s Spark effect (Blaze or Ember) can be used twice per session instead of once
Steps
The protected Memory also grants +1 to the Mental Defense Bonus per Step (stacking with the normal Bulwark table).
Requirement
You can maintain a maximum of 3 Bulwarks simultaneously (across any number of allies). Creating a 4th requires dropping one.
Special
Duration is permanent until the Bastion Soul dies or voluntarily removes the protection. If you die, the protection fades over 24 hours. This is the Bastion Soul’s most emotionally significant Talent — you are personally guarding someone’s identity. Allies who have benefited from your Bulwark know what you did for them.
