Effect
Target one creature within Near range. They lose all sense of identity for 1 minute. They don’t know their name, their allegiance, their goals, or their relationships. They can still act (self-preservation instinct remains), but they will not fight for a cause, protect a person, or pursue an objective. They default to passive confusion.
Resist
ECHO + Resilience vs. your Channeling Sum negates. Targets with 5 intact Memories gain +2 to resist (the Bulwark protects them).

+1 minute duration per Step.
Special
When the effect ends, the target remembers the experience. It is deeply traumatic — 1 Strain from the psychic aftershock. Characters who have experienced Ego Death often develop an obsessive need to reaffirm their identity afterward.
Soul Anchor (BS R3) blocks Ego Death entirely — Anchor reaches R1–R3 identity attacks.
