Store the failed roll. The next time you or that ally makes a check using the same Skill, they gain +3 Roll Bonus — fate compensating for the earlier failure.
The stored bonus lasts until used or until the next Long Rest.

Only one Fate Tax can be stored at a time. If you store a new one, the previous bonus is lost. This encourages the Seer to view failure as investment — the Frontier takes from you, and sometimes it pays you back.
