Effect

Sever a target’s connection to fortune. For the rest of the scene:

• The target cannot benefit from Critical Successes (double 8s are treated as a normal success)
• The target cannot use Mettle Reactions (Dive, Dodge, Parry, Intercept — their instincts are blinded)
• Any roll where the target’s two highest dice are equal (doubles of any value) is treated as a Fumble
• The target cannot be healed by psionic means (fate has abandoned them; the Current won’t help)

Resist

ECHO + Focus vs. your Channeling Sum negates.

Steps

The target loses 1 Mettle per Step (the connection to grit and instinct frays).

Special

This Talent is despised by other Psionics because it works on allies and enemies alike — and because the implication (that luck is a quantifiable resource that can be cut) is philosophically horrifying.
