Effect
Target one creature within Near range. You permanently delete a specific memory, skill, or piece of knowledge from their mind.
Combat Applications:
- Delete weapon training: Target’s relevant Combat skill drops to 0 for the scene
- Delete ally recognition: Target sees former ally as stranger or threat
- Delete self-preservation: Target loses ability to Take Cover
Narrative Applications:
- Erase a witness’s memory of a crime
- Make a Sheriff forget he issued a bounty
- Remove knowledge of a secret passphrase or location
Resist
Target may roll ECHO + Focus vs. your Channeling Sum. If they beat your roll, the Talent fails — but they still know you tried.
Special
The Scar: The target feels a permanent, aching void where the memory was. They know something is missing but can never remember what.
Soul Anchor (BS R3) protects against Memory Burn — and by extension, shields a target from Memory Hole during its 1-hour duration window.
