Effect
Subtly alter a single target’s emotional state within Near range — shift calm to uneasy, irritation to fury, affection to suspicion. The change feels natural to the target; they rationalize it as their own reaction.
This does not compel action — it changes the emotional context in which they make decisions.
Resist
ECHO + Insight vs. your Channeling Sum to notice the manipulation (not to resist the emotion itself). The emotion is imposed regardless; the Resist roll only determines whether the target realizes what happened.

Special
Unlike The Nudge (which compels a specific action), Mood Shift adjusts the emotional landscape. A guard shifted from “bored” to “anxious” is more likely to investigate noises. A merchant shifted from “suspicious” to “generous” might lower their prices. The GM determines behavioral consequences.
