Effect
The GM describes a threat that would have occurred within the next 10 minutes if you hadn’t intervened. You and your allies gain a single round of free actions to prepare countermeasures before the threat materializes.
Examples:
- “An ambush from the canyon walls in 8 minutes” — you position for the ambush before it comes
- “The bridge will collapse when the third person crosses” — you cross in pairs
- “The water is poisoned” — you pour it out
Steps
+5 minutes of advance warning per Step.
Special
The act of seeing the threat and preparing for it may change the outcome entirely (the ambushers see you’re ready and withdraw) or merely improve your odds. The GM determines consequences. The future is not fixed — it shifts in response to your actions.
