Effect

Target one enemy within Near range. You seize control of their motor functions for 10 Ticks (roughly one round of actions). You dictate their movement and actions. You can force them to attack their allies, drop their weapon, or walk into danger.

Resist

At the end of each of their turns, the target may roll ECHO + Focus vs. your original Channeling Sum to break free early.

Steps

+5 Ticks duration per Step.

Requirement

Suicide Limit: If you force the target to harm themselves directly (shoot themselves, walk off a cliff), the control breaks immediately and they take 1d6 Strain instead. This is the discipline’s hard ethical brake — the will fights back at the moment of self-erasure.

Special

Unlike The Wet Strings (Flesh Shaper R3), Puppet Strings controls through the mind, not the body — so mental defenses apply normally. Iron Will (BS R1) grants its +2 to the resist roll.
