Effect
Trigger: Your Vitality reaches your Death Threshold.
You see the thread of your life about to snap — and you seize it. You do not die. Instead:
- Your Vitality stabilizes at 1 (you are Downed but not Bleeding Out)
- You gain 1 final Action before collapsing — any Action, at any Tempo, with +4 Roll Bonus
- If this Action kills an enemy, you are stabilized automatically (no Medicine check needed)
- If this Action saves an ally’s life (stabilizing them, removing a lethal threat), you recover to half Vitality
- If this Action does neither, you collapse and begin Bleeding Out normally
Requirement
Can only be used once, ever. The burned Memory is the price of admission to the one future where you survive.
Special
The Price Beyond Memory: You have cheated death. Death remembers. The GM adds 3 dice to the Tension Pool immediately. Something from the Veil felt you grab the thread — and it is now looking for you specifically.
A Seer who has used The Last Thread is marked — other Seers see a faint, frayed end trailing behind them where the thread was cut and reattached. They call it “the scar on the loom.”
Per the Miracle Reaction Rule, the Memory cost is the entire cost — no Mettle is required despite this being a Reaction.
