To a Psy-Slinger, a gun is not a weapon — it is a wand made of iron and ash. They channel the Current directly into the chamber of their firearm, loading bullets with memory and will. Their shots bend around corners, punch through walls, and strike true when physics says they shouldn’t.

Attack-Replacing Talents — Universal Rule

Many Psy-Slinger Talents replace a normal attack with a Channeling roll. When this occurs, a single roll serves both purposes:

  1. Manifest: The Sum must meet or exceed the Talent TN for the power to manifest.
  2. Hit: If the power manifests, the same Sum is compared to the target’s Defense to determine if the shot strikes.

Three Outcomes

Manifest + HitSum ≥ TN AND Sum ≥ DefenseThe Talent works and the bullet strikes. Resolve damage and effects.
Manifest + MissSum ≥ TN, Sum < DefenseThe power activates, but the bullet misses. Effects that don’t require a hit (area effects, dust clouds, ricochets) still occur. The cost is spent.
FizzleSum < TNThe power fails entirely. Cost is still spent. Standard Failure or Fumble rules apply.

Multi-Target Talents

The Talent TN is checked once (manifest); the target’s Defense is checked individually per target (hit). Armor Rating (AR) applies separately to each target unless the Talent explicitly states otherwise.
